You’ve mastered the art of the first impression. Your genuine personality and calm demeanor are rivaled only by the confidence and competence you exude each time someone new walks through the door. When you pick up the phone, the person on the other end of the line could swear they hear a smile in your voice. Your emails exude class, tact, and warmth. Personal appearance? You represent a forward-thinking floral studio that champions creativity and impeccable design. So yeah, you look the part.

Taxes, accounting, payroll, and insurance all sound like four letter words to you because you’d rather spend your days designing meaningful experiences.  You prefer collaborating with a team of creatives and are seeking a career that you can call home for quite some time.  In your spare time you can be found exploring seasonal art exhibits, traveling, or curled up on the couch thumbing through the endless jungle of Pinterest.

Primary petals centerpiece

This year we wanted to take a step back and fall in love with our craft all over again. We spend so much time designing for others that it was important for us to create space to design for ourselves again. This is the first of many of those moments. Recently we’ve been drawn to dark masculine accents in a softer palatte which was what drew us to this color story. We’ve also been drawn to creating compositions that look naturally overgrown. Where the flowers look organic and the greens look a bit loose and unkept.

2014 has been a crazy busy one for us as we kicked things off with a move into our brand new studio space with Carly Rae Weddings and Fourth Films.  8 mood boards, 7 concept guides, and 6 months later we finished and celebrate with a big opening party.  A few weeks ago Meghan Kay Sadler came by to shoot the space for us and as I look through these images I’m so proud of what we created and thankful to be able to come to work in such an inspiring studio.

Consultations used to happen at a local coffee shop.  Now they happen on this pink couch.  I’d say its a bit of an upgrade, wouldn’t you?

Thank you to the talented Meghan Kay Sadler for capturing our new studio so beautifully.  An empty studio is a lame studio so if you ever want to come visit we would love to treat you to a cup of tea and show you the space!

Calamigos Ranch Wedding Inspiration #primarypetals

Angelica and George came to us early in 2014 with a  concept and design that we have been dying to work with.  Angelica wanted a very soft and whimsical occasion with lots of loose and organic flowers.  Her color story included whites, creams, muted greens, and soft blues as accents.  With each bride we always start with a little bit of Pinterest until we can create a mood board that inspires the art direction for the entire design.  After a few weeks of pinning and a couple revisions we came up with the board found below.  From there we pieced together some strong concepts, walked through the venue to finalize details, and then the production began!  I loved every second of working with this couple and this wedding truly became a passion project for our entire team.  We couldn’t be happier with how the photos turned out by the incredible Sara Lucero.
